Big Sister 0.99 b 1 (beta) Release NotesThis release brings back full Windows support. Please see also the .win32 RELEASE_NOTES file in order to get more information on Windows specific issues. Besides that there have been a few minor design changes and bug fixes also relevant for non-Windows users. The var/status.log file has been replaced by a new mechanism where status.log only contains the name of the "real" status.log file on one line. The true status.log file is now named in a unique fashion (status.log<timestamp>.<id>). This fixes the old "status.log rotate timeout" on Windows. The needed SNMP modules are now included with the main release. Most Windows specific uxmon tests have been ported to the new style sensor engine and therefore behave in consistance with their Unix counterparts. Therefore most old-style tests are now declared "deprecated" and shouldn't be used, any more. The eventlog test got fixed and now also works for logs with automatic re-use of entries configured. Srvany is no longer needed. Instead Big Sister directly behaves as a Windows service unless started in debugging mode. Fixed an image map incompatibility with newer GD versions. Fixed procs test for HP/UX. ./configure now knows an option --with-systype=<type> which allows to install Big Sister with explicit system type set. Added a Windows specific default uxmon-net configuration. Changed uxmon-asroot semantics: uxmon-asroot now behaves like documented ... Fixed installation of reporting stuff. Reduced the size of SNMP requests so that even devices with limitted request size are pollable. Fixed missing history data with +ImmediateHTML option in bb-display.cfg enabled. Installing Big Sister as non-root user now works again. |
